7 Thanksgiving Tips to Recharge During Your Job Search
Jan 03, 2025Whether you're in the middle of a job search or supporting someone who is, thank you for trusting me to guide you through this journey.
Thanksgiving's almost here, and it's a great chance to pause and think about all the good stuff in our lives. If you’re in job search mode, I know it can feel never-ending, but don’t push yourself too hard.
Burnout is real. It’s important to allow space for rest and renewal to approach your goals with fresh energy.
Rest is as (sometimes even more) important as pure hustle.
1. Turn off job alerts – Give yourself permission to step away from the job boards for a few days.
2. Reframe your job search – If family talk goes to the job search, instead of venting or avoiding the topic, take it as an opportunity to share the role and industry you’re targeting.
3. Get outdoors – Take a fall walk and enjoy some quality time with friends and family.
4. Start a hobby – Spend time doing something you love—reading, crafting, baking, or whatever brings you joy.
5. Disconnect – Set your devices aside and focus on the present moment.
6. Practice gratitude – Reflect on your progress, no matter how small, and be thankful for the steps you’ve taken.
7. Binge-watch something inspiring – Recharge with entertainment that motivates or relaxes you.
I know it's natural to feel stressed about your job search, but don't forget that it's just as important to relax, enjoy the holiday season, and cherish time with your family.
